A Board is a collection of items organized by the user. These items can be analysis files from Spotfire, interesting articles, results from an analysis, disparate data sources, online training modules, documentation, and even other Boards. Boards allow users to collaborate within an organization or team by sharing boards, making comments, and pinning.
After clicking the Boards button on the toolbar, a user will see the My Boards Panel.
|+ New Board||Add a new Board using this button.
|Search||Keyword search for the name of the Board.|
|Board Table||Each Board a user is a member of as well as all boards marked with My Organization visibility are displayed here. The board's settings and creation date are also displayed. The fields displayed can be sorted. Clicking the board name will open the board.|
After accessing the Board from Favorites or from the My Boards Panel, the user will be presented with a view of the Board.
This will bring a user to the Add To Board modal. This modal is described in more detail below.
|Edit Board Details||
This will bring a user to the Edit Board Details Panel. This panel is described about in the the + New Board description.
|+Add||This will allow a user to invite other users to their board via the Board Members Panel.
Each User that can be added to the board is displayed here. The user's metadata is also displayed. The fields displayed can be sorted. Clicking Add action will add the user to the the board. Clicking +Add All will add all users to the board. The Back to Board button on the top right of the panel will take the user back to the board.
|Pins Panel||The Pins Panel displays the items currently pinned to the board.
Add To Board (Pinning)
Use the pin icon next to an item's title to add items to a board.
This action will take the user to the Add to Board modal.
|Recent Boards||Recent Boards are boards the user has recently pinned to. Clicking a board here will pin the relevant item to the board.|
|All Boards||The All Boards area is a list of all boards where the user is a member or visibility is set to My Organization. The list contains Name, Description, and a Pin Button. Clicking the Pin Button will pin the relevant item to the board.
NOTE: Holding CTRL will allow the user to pin the relevant item to multiple boards at once.
|Pin to a New Board||Clicking Pin to a New Board will take the user to the New Board page as discussed above. After creating the new board, the item will be pinned to the new board.|
|Cancel||Cancel will cancel the Add to Board operation and exit the modal.
NOTE: Pinning an item to a board(s) will automatically exit the modal.
