The purpose of this article is to explain DCA Wrangler Modes.

DCA Wrangler Modes

The DCA Wrangler has three modes -- Multiwell View, Single Well Editor, and Type Curves.

OptionDescription
Multi WellSelecting Multi-Well will put DCA Wrangler into a mode where a user can see individual well decline curves. In this mode, the user will see a well in each panel the multi-well subview. The example data used shows some of the wells in the Gates Ranch Lease.

If no decline curve exists for the marked well, the user will see an empty thumbnail that prompts the user to Run Decline. In order to see results, click Decline. After a decline is run for a well, results are shown.

Saved models are gray. if the user uses the Sync button and syncs models for a well they will be gray.

Once a well decline is edited by the user away from the autocasted decline, the label will turn orange-red.

Single Well To view parameters for a well and a detailed visualization, select a well from 'the Multiwell View by clicking on its panel. This will open the well in the single-well subview. This mode will also expose detailed parameters and calculations that DCA Wrangler has run. The below is an example of that view.

IMPORTANT NOTE: To return to the multiwell view, select Multiwell View from the drop-down in the navigation bar.

Type Curve Selecting Type Curve will put DCA Wrangler into a mode where a user can see type curves for the well decline curves grouped by the Groups property in the properties menu. In this mode, the user will see a well in each panel the multi-well subview. Using example data, the below is the P10 and P90 type curves for the entire Gates Ranch.

The Type Curve Mode's view also shows detailed parameters and results in the panel to the right of the plot.
