Most Spotfire users spend a lot of time in the Properties dialog box of visualizations, and using shortcut keys makes getting into this dialog much easier.  In versions 6.5 and earlier, the shortcut keys to open the Properties dialog is Ctrl + Enter.  In versions 7.0 and later, the shortcut key is Alt + E + V, which is unfortunately because this is much harder and slower to key in than the old shortcut key, but it's still useful.
