After the SharePoint Data Source .spk is installed on the server, it is possible to restrict access to certain user groups.  Steps to accomplish this are as follows (screenshot below for reference):

  1. Open administration manager as a Library Administrator

  2. Create group for administering access to the extension (we suggest “SharePoint Data Source”)  - this is the group that will provide access to the SharePoint Data Source.

  3. Only check SharePoint Data Source license under TIBCO Spotfire Extensions

  4. Add groups as a member of the SharePoint Data Source access group.  Member groups will inherit access rights to the SharePoint Data Source.  Other access rights should be received through other memberships.

Going offline

Users can take their licensed extensions offline (without internet access) for up to 30 days.  At that point, the extension will need to be validated again against the license service.

Periodic license validation

The licensed products will validate the license against the license web service every 2 days. This is data helps protect our products and does not track usage information.
